I have argued a few times that for all practical purposes, the global south does not exist for Mastodon, and for the rest of the Fediverse. But many people I interact with do not quite understand how this works in practice.

@feralthoughts I'm not sure what can be done to improve the situation, but as a citizen of the #GlobalSouth I can attest of that the fediverse seems like speaking into the void. If I search for #Peru I get naked pictures of swingers. If I search for my soccer team, #AlianzaLima, I only see my own posts.
