@Scavenger_bug
@Snowshadow I hope Trump takes over Canada so the woke mob finally dies since I'm sick of the woke mob in Canada and I'm Canadian! and he will also chase away the left American migrants were fleeing from his fascist regime bruh we don't want you guys here either."
and it continues but I think you get the drift.
@Snowshadow @Scavenger_bug@mastodon.social @gemelliz Wow!! Reported/blocked.
@GottaLaff @Snowshadow Thanks, Snow.
Another example of why we need to nip the "51st state" "manifest destiny" jokes in the bud. Even if the poster is just "havin' little fun" and "actually loves you guys", it normalizes the idea and emboldens the MapleMAGAs here in #Canada.
Nice to have you on this side of the border, Laffy.
Friendly, but formidable. :)
@gemelliz I'm honored. Thank YOU!
@GottaLaff @Snowshadow Honoured :)
Oh Stop it you two. Enough already!
@GottaLaff @Snowshadow just making sure Laffy has a good sense of humour. teehee
@gemelliz Sure, you laff, but I nearly typed "ou" in one of my "o" words the other day.
OMG it's contagious!!!!!
@GottaLaff when in Canada! lol @gemelliz
@Snowshadow (I still don't like poutine) *ducking* @gemelliz
@GottaLaff @Snowshadow @gemelliz
Now, now. Let's not say things we may regret later.
(I'm not a fan either, frankly)
@Sir_Osis_of_Liver I wasn't either until I tried it our east---totally different flavour!!@GottaLaff @gemelliz
@GottaLaff @Snowshadow ha. Not my favourite either :)
@gemelliz @GottaLaff @Snowshadow I've never liked fries with gravy, so adding curds won't change that. :)
@CStamp Plus, not the healthiest choice of food @gemelliz @Snowshadow
@GottaLaff That's the comfort in comfort food.
@CStamp @gemelliz
@Snowshadow True, but poutine triples it. @CStamp @gemelliz
@GottaLaff @Snowshadow @gemelliz It's like any other junk food. Treats are a good part of a healthy diet, it's when folk live on the stuff that's it's problematic.
That's it. One visa and one citizenship revoked! lol.
Noooooo! Lol
Well, as @AlsoPaisleyCat suggested, maybe a chip truck version. I'm always willing to give it another shot.
@GottaLaff @Snowshadow @gemelliz @AlsoPaisleyCat "*Real* poutine" isn't really for me, either. But I love gravy and melted cheese, so I'm all over... shall we say "neighbours" of poutine.
Waffle fries, shredded marble cheese, beef gravy, some chopped green onions sprinkled on top...
@zenheathen I'm open to anything. As long as it tastes good.
@zenheathen there goes my diet for the day
@Snowshadow And everything there, or on regular poutine: Produced right here in Canada...
@zenheathen damn right!! 100% Canadian all the way!
I really enjoy the fries, gravy, and cheese curds, especially with diced tomatoes. Pretty sure it's sacrilege.
@Just_Tired @GottaLaff @Snowshadow @gemelliz @AlsoPaisleyCat Ooh, tomatoes, good call. Begs for the gravy to be swapped out for a little nacho cheese and a little sour cream.
@GottaLaff @Snowshadow @gemelliz @AlsoPaisleyCat Try Poutine Italienne. No gravy, tomato and meat sauce on the fries and cheese curds. My fave.
@lauriekay9 All of it sounds so heavy. I was brought up by an internist. No fried foods. I cheat sometimes, but this does not appeal to me, sorry.
@GottaLaff @Snowshadow @gemelliz @AlsoPaisleyCat It didn’t appeal to me either. But now I have to have it every time we go to Quebec.
@GottaLaff You have had only BC poutine, go east for the experience. @gemelliz
@Snowshadow @gemelliz Yeah, I figured. It's commercialized
Poutine is an acquired taste.
Much better though with authentic French Canadian fries from a chip truck in summer, made with the end of last year’s potato crop.
My first encounter with an authentic chip truck as a young summer student from the west coast redefined my concept of what fries should be.
@AlsoPaisleyCat Ooooo. I'll keep an eye out. I love authentic anything.
@AlsoPaisleyCat It does taste different out east, from a legit source.
