Eh, I'm #newhere and need help please. On the web platform, the faves and retoots counter for all posts have disappeared. It's been like this for a couple days. On the iOS app, they are displayed. What did I do this time? Thanks in advance!
@Tamami from what I know, this is expected — the idea is to discourage looking at them as at the worth of a post, and to look at its content first, without the pursuit of the “likes” and other engagement. Some clients show them, but the official position of mastodon is not to expose them until you go onto the specific post’s page.
@kizu Oh interesting. I do recall reading something on that, but then I thought I was seeing the engagement counters on web. Thanks much; quirky logic but I like it!
