Terrible news. Not only are even more people in tech losing their jobs before the holidays, #Luna is potentially in danger of being wiped out alongside #Stadia, further destabilizing the #cloudgaming market.
@ZTLaidlaw ugh. I really thought with the big tech companies bringing #Stadia and #Luna to the masses #cloudgaming had a real shot at success. I imagine their employees felt the same. I hope everyone can land on their feet and the economy recovers quickly.
@MylesTremonti A part of me can’t help but wonder if Stadia would’ve stuck around if not for the recession. I would hate to see cloud gaming die out due to temporary economic hardship. It’s a shame.
@MylesTremonti @ZTLaidlaw I don't think this would really affect the cloud gaming market a lot to begin with.
Stadia's shutdown and the community reaction mostly boiled down to issues with Google as a company — not Stadia's tech or cloud gaming in general.
There's also services like GeForce Now, featuring a bigger userbase (and library) compared to both of them together, pushing cloud gaming forward more than ever.
@confirmare @ZTLaidlaw I certainly like your thinking and I am pulling that history proves you right
