Holy shit, Nvidia is now worth more than Saudi Aramco.
@ZachWeinersmith Oof, there's a bubble if ever I've seen one
@zalasur @ZachWeinersmith Yeah, petrochemicals are absolutely not the future.
@spacehobo @zalasur @ZachWeinersmith
Wouldn't be surprised the AI bubble being run by burning Aramco oil in the deserts of Arabia.
@ZachWeinersmith on the one hand, yay? We need chips more than we need oil right now?
On the other... it's the stupid AI thing, isn't it?
@FrankHghTwr @ZachWeinersmith yes people are basically betting that AI will be more important than Amazon or Oil
@FrankHghTwr @ZachWeinersmith no we don't (kind of) and yes it is
@ehproque @ZachWeinersmith Hence the question marks. I'm a programmer, so I know I'm biased; and I don't read the news too often, so I know I get old stuff stuck "up there"
(TL;DR: you mean we're not in a chip shortage?)
@FrankHghTwr @ZachWeinersmith we haven't done our homework for the past 40 years, so if we run of petrol tomorrow agriculture modern agriculture ceases to work and we starve. If we run out of chips many things also cease to work and we still starve, but not quite at the same pace.
@ZachWeinersmith the two major energy companies
@ZachWeinersmith Yaay, AI and coin bubbles coincide!
@ZachWeinersmith SkyNet runs on solar.
@ZachWeinersmith *Sigh* I am once again reminding investors that you can't eat tulips.
@proprietous @ZachWeinersmith last idiots in line does not know that
@ZachWeinersmith seems like another result of companies being allowed to buy instead of compete. There's enough market share for more than AMD and Nvidia.
@ZachWeinersmith Can you believe it?
@ZachWeinersmith If I were TSMC and realized that only I could make the chips that power Apple and Nvidia for the next decade, then I'd either get a bigger slice, or move up the SMILE curve.
