A veteran is someone who no longer is serving.
@_nibbles @georgetakei You think they just retire and live on easy street? Many veterans don't have enough to live on, so they get jobs. Many of them get jobs in the department of Veteran Affairs. They are also technically DEI hires. Guess who Trump etc. are firing?

veterans as a group were given preferential hiring because of dei, so they were fired from non military, but still government work. is my assumption.
