My partner has just figured out that not only are Ned Stark and Tony Stark not related, they don't even inhabit the same fictional universe.
I think this means that my attempt to persuade her that they are the twin sons of actress Koo Stark is not going to succeed.
@angusm Might be a stretch.
@HollieK72 I'm tempted to try throwing James Stark from @Kadrey's “Sandman Slim" series into the mix, but I think it would require too much explaining.
@HollieK72 @angusm @Kadrey And multiple diagrams, photos, and degrees in both genetics and time-travel.
@angusm which one of them is Sansa Stark married to?
@afewbugs All of them?
The universe-spanning Stark polycule is both incestuous and dangerous to be around, between Tony's high-tech experiments and crazy aunt Arya's habit of showing up unexpectedly and shivving people in the back.
@angusm but it’s worth a shot, if only for the lols?
@gulfie She gave me one of Those Looks when I tried.
@angusm Well, not yet anyway. Eventually, Disney will probably absorb that property too and then they can retcon a connection in.
What if Koo Stark were married to The Watcher?
He can & does manipulate time.
Also, she didn't take his surname because he doesn't have one.
It fits. Gotta admit, it fits.
@weekend_editor Maybe his first name is "The" and his last name is "Watcher”? Then I suppose she could have been Mrs. Koo Watcher, but that would just sound weird. Not surprising that she kept her own name.
I think this is a stark reminder that your partner is on the ball.
@angusm heeeeheeee
in the pre internet days, these things were much easier, I once convinced someone that I could not believe in Riker in Star Trek, having watched the same actor playing Potsie in Happy Days....
