We lost Martin McLaughlin, Emeritus Agnelli-Serena Professor of Italian Studies at the Universiry of Oxford and with him gone, the world is lacking some genuine generosity, among many other qualities as he had and always shared as a person, a tutor, a scholar. You will be missed.
One of my earliest memories at the University of Oxford is (surprisingly, I know, and then so precious) a conversation about the importance of making higher education accessible, about local and global anti-classist movements, about squats and occupazioni as forms of owed social restitution and—above all—about how we should open a spritz bar and call it SPRITZATURA.
