1,023 mile (889 NM) flight from TIX to AUS
~ 1,156 gallons (4,375 liters).
~ 7,746 lbs (3,514 kg) of jet fuel used.
~ $6,473 cost of fuel.
~ 12 tons of CO2 emissions.
@elonjet To Florida and back to Texas in a single day. 22 tons of CO2. Four years of automobile exhaust. In one day, for one guy. (It's not like there aren't alternatives. There's flying commercial, but there's also being just a little bit more organized and using the telephone.)
@elonjet I'm really curious about this: how does 7 thousand pounds of a liquid produce 24,000 pounds of just one of the gases it becomes when burned? Is that accurate?
@Kerploppus @elonjet The oxygen atoms also have weight, not just the carbon. The extra weight is the oxygen from the air burning to make the carbon dioxide.
