Don't feel bad, there aer literally US citizens who think Canada is a frozen wasteland (even though we are experiencing up to humidex temps of 106F) and are shocked to discover we have *microwave ovens* and smart TVs, and *gasp* internet/wifi.

I knew someone who worked as Border security and he said at least weekly during August they come across the border with skis strapped to their cars and are shocked that there is no snow on the ground.

It seems top be a regular occurrance. Of course then we have the tourists who are outraged we use a different currency! Or because do not have a fireworks display to celebrate US independence day.
