Tanya M. Jones Bosier of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia has awarded the name “Proud Boys” and its symbols to a Washington, DC church to help satisfy a $2.8 million judgment against the far-right group.
How is this even considered a win? smh
I don’t understand your question. They have to pay the church to use their name.
How is this tithing going to be set up and enforced?
Why would the church even want to be associated?
@SpaceLifeForm @kegill This bit is probably not about money. The church may not permit the logo and name to be used at all, depriving the organization of their own name. It is fitting.
Do you not understand COPYRIGHT AND TRADEMARK OWNERSHIP?
They’ll sue and win and get more damages.
@kegill "The ruling by the judge effectively means that Proud Boys chapters across the country can no longer legally use their own name or the group’s traditional symbols without the permission of the church that was attacked."
