I love how both Bluesky and Threads introduced themselves as a bare-bones not-Twitter Twitter, got a bunch of early buzz, and then proceeded to not improve the user experience in the slightest. https://www.wsj.com/articles/threads-user-engagement-continues-to-drop-adding-urgency-for-new-features-8ed2f384
@kevincollier Here's something I would like every app with character restrictions to do:
Coherently organise my longer posts into numerically-compliant tweets/skeets/posts for me. I'm tired of copying and pasting the same blurb from Twitter to Bluesky and to the Threads, especially when I get more engagement from magpies on my walking route than Bluesky and Threads.
@kevincollier Eg when I extract bits from diplomatic statements, if they're too long, I just post the lot on Mastodon-->LinkedIn and just share the Mastodon link on Twitter, Bluesky and Threads.
Mastodon is my favourite Twitter alternative purely for that reason - I can post tons without having to thread needles re character limits.
