Elections are won or lost in the last two weeks. And wow, what a week this has been.

"In 2000, eighteen per cent said that they decided which Presidential candidate to vote for only in the last two weeks of the campaign; five per cent, enough to swing most elections, decided the day they voted."

@kralcttam @GottaLaff You have to be an idiot, and live in a cave to be "undecided".

@alexf24 @kralcttam @GottaLaff I don't buy that any of them are undecided. Lying that they are is just a way to pretend they're smart, not "sheeple".

@dalias @alexf24 @kralcttam @GottaLaff I think a fair number aren't trying to choose between candidates, but whether to bother voting. This may have been the fire they needed lit under them.

@textualdeviance @alexf24 @kralcttam @GottaLaff Yes that's a lot more plausible. But I don't think "undecided voter" is a non misleading characterization of such a person.

@alexf24 @kralcttam @GottaLaff
I think most undecided people are just trying to live their lives and not pay too much attention to the news. It can be hard for those of us who are terminally online to appreciate, but many people deliberately avoid politics except the few weeks before an election.

@VATVSLPR @alexf24

That sounds wonderful, really, just tune in to politics in the last two weeks and then decide.

@kralcttam @GottaLaff great. Let's shorten the entire process to 8 weeks
