People should be scraping Twitter to make unauthorized cross posters/clients. It probably won't be any more broken that the official apps.

I shouldn't even have to be saying this. We all know Elon's rules are fake and yet we're following them. The more explicitly right wing that site becomes, the more it's incumbent on us to use any tools at our disposal to chip away at its power. We should be using guerilla tactics.

If nothing else it will enrage Elon and give his remaining engineers some extra work. Maybe some more will quit.

My operating premise is that if Elon hadn't shut down the API, a bunch of Twitter clients would have added Mastodon functionality, and a lot of people would have a foot in both worlds. I don't mean just passive cross posting either. And when you have a foot in both worlds, and see a lot of your social network with the same, it's a lot easier to remove your foot from one of them.

I don’t know how @MonaApp is pulling this off, but I’d love to be able to use my Twitter account credentials to follow individual Twitter accounts in Mona, and just have them in my timeline. Same for Bluesky and Threads accounts, and RSS feeds for that matter. One app, where Mastodon is your home base but you can follow anyone anywhere. mastodon.social/@MonaApp/11140

@misc Thank you for the feedback.

@misc @MonaApp You can through bird.makeup you just put in their Twitter and it spits out user on instance to follow. You can see their tweets but not replies and if you reply to the post they can’t see it but at least you can still follow like rss
