I’m a #tiktokrefugee and trying to learn a little about the fediverse to try and future-proof my social media. Is there a fediverse space where commenting and conversations are a thing? I like mastodon for the feed but I can’t comment on anything. Maybe I’m missing the point? I’d appreciate any #fedihelp. I would really value a video tutorial on how navigate here and through some of the other adjacent spaces. I feel so lost.
@ofscienceandmagick To my best knowledge, it's like twitter where you reply to posts and thus, kicks off a conversation. I'm waiting for a fediverse photo/video sharing app (tiktok and instagram replacement) to launch. Pixelcut is too buggy and Bluesky lacks the privacy settings that Mastodon has.
@potaytoes_potahtoes then it makes sense why I am so confused lol. I have never had a twitter. Just meta apps and TikTok so I’m used to commenting in a thread under something. It appears that you reply instead of commenting here?
@ofscienceandmagick Perhaps https://lemmy.world/ is what you might be looking for, interaction wise.
@ofscienceandmagick Here's a quick video that might give some insight.

@ofscienceandmagick One of the best places to get started is here: https://fedi.tips/
You should be able to comment on most posts though here.
@ofscienceandmagick For the web version and the main app I think, comments are done through the arrow pointing to the left. That should open a window you can type in.
