Germany has introduced border checks along all nine borders to other EU countries. To understand how extreme these measures are perceived in an EU context, this is like if New York started treating all citizens of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont with suspicion and demanding to see papers for them to enter New York.
The populist government of Denmark tried this for years, leading to endless lines of cars at the border.
@randahl also worth noting it's a total security show. They check roads and bigger streets for crossing while everyone with a frog IQ knows to just cross the border in some other spot in the middle of nowhere and no one will ever notice.
@hey Denmark has 13 border crossings to Germany. As far as I know, the government spent most security theatre resources at only 1.
Won't last long.
Federal Police are overtime wise already on the brink.
@randahl Very hard to question people who have had the history of extreme actions of dangerous persons in their past as to why they would be seeking another possible impairment...
Just know they know what to look for and hope they are able to get rid of it before it becomes out of control
With as little damage done especially with all goings on from other countries who maybe wanting to use and abuse others for deceptive actions ...
@randahl #migrants still keep coming unless we implement a sustainable solution for #dictators #prosperity #economicjustice #climatechange etc.
@randahl
We’re not even yet dealing with the problem of Hungary reducing restrictions on the entry of russians, are we? Has that started yet? What’s going to happen at all EU member borders if/when it does?
