Stay classy, Apple!
This is the shitification of the AppStore reviews spreading to customer reviews. Never seen this before or read about it (cc @daringfireball).
I just complimented @Iconfactory what a nice tool „World Wide Web" is for a Web Developer and this is what i got in return (see Alt-Text for Details and Link):
@Iconfactory just chattet with Apple Support. The Support guy tried to look up the reasons but came back blank and just referred to the guidlines (which explain nothing to me under the refferred to „Section L“).
He asked me to just submit my review again. I had not copied my review text and starting from scratch seems like to much hassle for me, so i told him, i won't review anything again until their moderation software is fixed and wished him a nice day.
@seiz @daringfireball Wow, that stinks for sure. This seems super strange to be sure. Appreciate you trying to leave us a review though. got to get more insight on what happened here. @chockenberry
@seiz @Iconfactory This is just a (n educated) guess, but they probably typo’d “Section K”, and, if it was “too positive” a review , flagged it under the “promotional materials”, posted for “compensation or incentive”, or engaging in “manipulative activity” guidelines.
Again, just a guess. I have no actual insider knowledge here.
@seiz No problem, appreciate the support.
@seiz @Iconfactory What was the text of the review?
@seiz @daringfireball @Iconfactory maybe they are testing a use case for their new OpenAI integration to automate the review process.
@omich BINGO!
