Microsoft won’t support Office apps on Windows 10 after October 14th https://www.theverge.com/2025/1/15/24344209/microsoft-365-office-apps-windows-10-end-of-support
Total BS. They make the OS. They make the applications. And like IBM with the mainframe, they're forcing hardware and OS upgrades. When I managed thousands of systems, and we concurrently operated legacy applications, this was a pain.
They always extended support for enterprise customers, but still. It looks like now they also have a offering to support end users with an additional fee.
@verge

Where is the #EU?
Where is the European IT ecosystem?
@EUCommission @EUCouncil @EP_GreensEFA
@verge They better keep pushing updates for the 2024 1 PC purchase version (no non subscription one), it just came out and shipped on Windows 10.
Otherwise it's straight up robbery.
@verge What about sustainability and the 60% perfectly usable computers that will be thrown away?
Yeah thought as much, big tech never actually cared about that.
