I love these stats from the recent Cloud Native Computing Foundation #CNCF 2024 survey, validating the growth in adoption of #CICD automation, with popular tools such as #Jenkins, #GitHub Actions, #GitLab and #argo

This just further shows how important it is to also provide proper observability into the CI/CD pipelines, and the work I help lead on standardizing it under OpenTelemetry.

@arichtman basic flow is a deploy event occurs by a new release of our automation > assert cluster has no alerts; halt if true > apply changes > execute test suites > wait for changes to stabilize > assert cluster health once again.

If we would have started this project in 2023 we would have used cluster api and probably or in favor of terraform and terragrunt for the mgmt of cloud resources. We’re using for the bulk of the “infra” workloads and monitoring

Stati Uniti 1935: una pioggia di anatre di ghiaccio si abbatte sulla città di Worcester: uno sguardo aereo sul mondo, in volo, che in pochi istanti si cristallizza, precipita, come un origami di ghiaccio, comico, nel suo delicato non-sense, nei frantumi a venire. Haiku, ma grotteschi. Lo stesso sguardo si cristallizza in parola, in Bàino, con giocosità, arguzia, e tragica leggerezza. Uno “zibaldino”, un prolungato commento al mondo, in cui si alternano microracconti, aforismi, rêveries, citazioni, calembour, versi e asterischi saggistici.
Con lampi degni del miglior Flaiano («È un uomo tutto d’un prezzo»), e slittamenti semantici di assoluta genialità, l’autore osserva, e miniaturizza, il mondo della politica, dell’informazione, della letteratura, provocando dei piccoli shock nella percezione che abbiamo, proprio di quel mondo, attraverso il linguaggio.

Mariano Bàino (Napoli, 1953) è stato tra i fondatori della rivista “Baldus” e del Gruppo ’93. Tra i suoi libri di poesia ricordiamo Fax giallo, Pinocchio (moviole) (Premio Feronia); tra le opere di narrativa L’uomo avanzato e i recentissimi Il cielo per Roma (Exorma, 2021) e Di bistorte lune (Galaad, 2023)

Právě dočteno.

Zajímavý román, který je celý vyprávěn robotem (robotkou) jménem Klára, jenž disponuje pokročilou umělou inteligencí. Příběh začíná v obchodě s roboty, kde Klára nějaký čas čeká ve víloze a má tak možnost pozorovat okolní dění na ulici. Po čase si ji vybere dospívající dívka, která trpí nemocí na kterou není lék a Klára tak dostává za úkol starat se o ni.
Klára se postupně snaží pochopit jak lidé fungují a proč se chovají tak, jak se chovají apod.
Minimalistické, psychologické sci-fi v komorním stylu.
Mně osobně se od pana Ishigura mnohem více líbil Pohřbený obr, ale rozhodně se jedná o zajímavé dílo.

Právě dočteno.

Tři američtí vojáci od letectva, kteří byli ve válce ve Vietnamu sestřeleni a následně americkou armádou považováni za nezvěstné se rozhodli nevrátit se domů a zůstat nezvěstní. Zůstat inkognito. Nakonec se usídlili v Laosu na kraji jedné horské vesničky a tam se věnovali vaření drog, duchovnímu životu a tak podobně.
Jednoho dne je ale jeden z nich chycen při pašování drog a vládu začne zajímat, kde jsou zbylí dva.
Trocha Laosu a Vietnamu, trocha Thajska a Ameriky, trocha japonské mytologie a spousta filozofování a humoru a... majonézy.
Prostě Tom Robbins.

Another Day, another :argocd: Application!

Today's Application is GoToSocial :gotosocial:

I wrote an Argo CD App for @0hlov3's gotosocial helm chart to make it easier to deploy on :k8s: using sync waves and then it generates a fancy little diagram like the one below.

In the ./app_of_apps directory we create the manifests and helm chart in this sync wave order:

  1. all required PVCs, and ExternalSecrets
  2. SeaweedFS file system and s3 endpoint with two buckets, one for Postgres backups and one for GoToSocial media
  3. Postgresql Cluster
  4. GoToSocial helm app

Highly recommend GoToSocial as it's much more lightweight than Mastodon. 0hlov3 has also been great to collaborate with, so checkout their helm chart as well :heart_cyber:
