Review title: Borderlines.
Let’s be honest, I watched this for shits and giggles, and I only got a giggle out of it sadly. I think it’s got some unnecessary criticisms but most of them are correct. It almost seems like this is a reboot.
Since this is fresh of my memory, I’ll list the good and the bad. Spoilers ahead.

Good:
- Some of the jokes.
- The effects and animation are decent.
- The soundtrack is not bad.

Bad:
- No Mordecai or Brick. Honestly, they are two really underrated characters. They’re quick to show off Ellie and Scooter in the ending, but not these two iconic duos?
- The weapons lack identity.
- Some characters lack some gimmicks, like how is Roland this engineer, how is Marcus an arms dealer, Moxxie’s innuendos, those sort of things. It lacks that fleshing out that would make them recognizable. But they hit the nail on the head with others I’m happy to report.
(Rest of the bads and conclusion in reply)

Don't get me wrong, I am not condemning sequels per se. What I do loathe are unnecessary franchises that have nothing to tell. And of course it's not only sequels/prequels/interquels or reboots, but flicks like the abysmal #BorderlandsMovie as well.

Maybe studio execs will learn that a movie is more than "'member this?" rehashs and 150 min. butt-ugly VFX, but that a story needs to be told with characters that one can care about. Too bad the majority of the audience doesn't seem to care either.
