Hey look at that, Cambridge Bike Safety is now bridged to Mastodon!

Do you like bikes? Do you want to make friends with people that like bikes? Do you want to confuse people when you tell them you have only ever gotten to Montreal by bike? ...I have just the adventure for you!
I've done Bostreal the past 2 years, it's a blast. You should sign up!

#GeoVelo is a pretty good bike nav app. Lots of nice features like showing bike parking and water fountains (from #OSM). Also lets you select type of route (speed vs safe) and bike type.
Bike type is cool, especially since you can select bike share and get routed to/from stations.
Unfortunately, Boston's #BlueBike system wasn't included. Emailed the company last week with the link to the data and they have already added the data!
Some great stats about recent bike improvement projects from Boston's State of the Streets tonight!
A driver almost ran over a construction worker on Mass Ave near Symphony who was directing traffic, while four cyclists waiting patiently in the bike lane. Everyone was yelling at the driver.
And I was told bike lanes were the problem?
Quick spin on the new tires
Someone was playing saxophone by Neponset trail. Was he the target of a recent 311 complaint about someone playing saxophone (near Adams & King playground in Dorchester)?
Went on the Somerville Bike Kitchen Halloween bike ride last night and someone was Calvin Jones, the Park Tool youtube guy, and that was just the perfect bike themed costume.
Dude was stopped at the light in an Urban Arrow at Porter this evening; I was going to ask him how he liked it as I crossed the crosswalk in front of him, but living in LA for so long means I know how to play cool around celebrities. #BikeBoston #UrbanArrow #IGottaGetMeOneOfThose
Biked to my polling place, had a vote.
Biked to the library, got some books.
Biked to the grocer, got some bites.
Bikes! They're pretty great!

Surprisingly, Emerson move-in actually made the separated bike lane on Tremont St more protected. All the volunteers were keeping the lane clear (whereas usually there is a truck illegally parked for the theater there).
As a bonus, they even cheered for all the cyclists going thru.
Today I gave Cambridge Bike Safety's verbal comment regarding MassDOT's new truck safety regulations, mandating side guards and other devices on all trucks owned or contracted by the state.
These regulations will be lifesaving. Just this June, Cambridge saw two people killed when a truck turned into them and crushed them. Side guards could have save both of their lives.
With the two recent killings of cyclists in Cambridge, both in intersections when a truck ran them over, let's talk about things the city could do right now to make our streets safer.
Cambridge Bike Safety has written a primer on how to build safer intersections.

Progress on Boylston, about half the length has flex posts and saw some dudes actively installing signage this morning #BikeBoston
Pretty excited about this article and what we've been able to start with BCU Labs.

As advocates, we can take data that the city publishes and find the stories that show the successes (or failures) of policies and use that to push for better outcomes.
This is an awesome article based on an analysis thread posted on this account last year. Looking forward to working with BCU Labs to continue this type of work!

Recently I've been working with @bostoncyclistsunion to build upon the work I've done (mostly) by myself with @BostonBikeData, building a team of advocates who take a look at all of the data around biking in Boston and make it more approachable and actionable.
Today our first post as BCU Labs is published!

I think these electric BlueBikes are really going to be something
The #BostonBlueBikes Bike Angel economy is broken. Prior to the app update, my highest month ever was around 30 points, but today alone I was able to snag 40 points. I'm not complaining, mind you, as I continue to not have to pay for a membership. #BikeBoston #BikeShare
