Can a $3,500 headset replace your TV? We tried Vision Pro to find out
We kick off our a multi-part Vision Pro review by testing it for entertainment.
@arstechnica No... Imagine people huddling around in the living room wearing one of these things to watch TV together. Yeah. Not gonna happen. At least I don't think so.
@freevolt24 @arstechnica No one "huddles" around the living room anymore.
@KellicTiger @arstechnica I think occasional huddling around still counts. Would you offer your Apple gear to your friends visiting your apartment?
@freevolt24 @arstechnica like…you understand sometimes people just want to watch shit on their own?
Why not a big ass TV for taking a shit, or riding a bus, in a plane, between classes? Whenever you want?
@Sonikku @arstechnica Actually using it on a plane sounds promising to me, but I'll pass if it costs $3500 because I'm not that affluent... Btw, aren't they something you could already do with a regular VR headset?
@arstechnica I’ll just keep my much less expensive TV.
@arstechnica Apple fanbois. No one asked nor needs a single mart review let alone a multi part review. If this was any other company you wouldn't even bothered.
@KellicTiger @arstechnica meh, I prefer multi-part drip feed to their overly long articles. Here’s one from another company’s product (just peep that ToC):

No because often I have 4 or more people watching my TV.
Could 4 (or more) $3,500 each ($14,000) headsets replace my 77" OLED TV? Not a chance.
@arstechnica AR is really going to be something amazing. Given I have a headset (valve index) I'm not gonna go for this now, but I really do think this trend will continue and become something most, if not all people start to use. Merging phones/computers into daily use even more.
That isn't to say its going to be perfect and the privacy implications are going to be something else, but in cities now a days there isn't privacy anywhere already.
@arstechnica a lot of cynical comments here who can’t imagine that some might watch things alone or want a personal IMAX they can take anywhere.
This kind of sneering derision is usually a good sign for an Apple product.
