I think that 1-clause BSD does not solve my problem because like zlib, it lacks a definition of "source code".

My general problem is I want "unambiguous [zlib/1-clause bsd] rules for interpreted languages". I don't think this exists, and it's hard to solve myself because (1) I'm not a lawyer and (2) when I approached OSI license-discuss about this (admittedly, in 2016) I was blown off
