@nixCraft I work in Hell Desk right now. I need to get a job as a carpenter or something.
@nixCraft if there is, for whatever reason, a life after this one, I'll try to become a carpenter.
@nixCraft weirdly enough, much like the other responses to this I am seriously considering taking up carpentry rather than go back to IT.
@nixCraft my gosh, how does one get to not work in IT?!
@nixCraft @lisamelton I’ve come to realize I don’t want to work in a help desk again if I can help it. Yes, I do have projects that I support but thankfully I’m not the point person for a general help desk.
@nixCraft I'm exactly at that moment. Starting my first IT job since 2018. With not enough sleep, bad dreams, sore throat, very bad weather, and knowing, the new environment is average at best.
@nixCraft [1000 ticket stare]
I got to my mid-30's, realized I was still working under a near on entry level title, was watching the next promising young white guy getting ahead of me claiming a lot of my work. I had shakes from working ridiculous hours for around 2½ years.
Man would I love to do some furniture making...
@nixCraft I like IT but not the way it’s being worked with (even though I am in a very good company comparably). I would like to do less, but going to stick it out some years until my financial situation is more solid. Then look at possibilities. Maybe a cafe?
