Ok, going to try a two for one today:
Posting this here to point out that it probably doesn't matter in the slightest that most of the reactionary forces assembling behind Trump have different names for the jolly fash pirate clubs:
Today's quote comes to you today from a book called:
The Kaiser's Holocaust: Germany's Forgotten Genocide and the Colonial Roots of Nazism by David Olusoga and Casper W. Erichsen
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8250985-the-kaiser-s-holocaust
You can find a review here but be warned, the book was controversial in the Guardian's eyes because it disagrees with the standard "Germany was REALLY poor and Hitler speaks magic fairy dust words that hypnotize people" discussion of why Nazi Germany happened in Germany and why it lead to the Holocaust:
https://www.theguardian.com/books/2010/dec/04/kaisers-holocaust-olugosa-erichsen-review
The book is most important in my mind not for what it says about the Kaiser's Holocaust in Africa, but for what it says about the German culture of "scientific racism" before Hitler rose to power and why that was probably the difference between the Nazi State in Germany and like Oswald Mosley getting his ass kicked every time he held a march in Britain.
Excellent book, strong recommend.
@AnarchoNinaWrites Yeah, I read about Germans mass murdering Poles during World War One the other day (was trying to look up stuff on the Imperial German rule of Poland). Like a Village of 50K Poles reduced to 5K.
Germany did a lot of horrific shit in WWI in Eastern Europe.
I knew about them in Africa, read a book on the diamond industry, and the horror they did there was straight 13 colonies...
