Gypsy is watching the D&D movie, so I glanced at the first twenty mins or so.
It's not bad, but it's not compelling, either.
I know it's D&D, etc, blah, but if you straight up say 'oh, btw, resurrection exists in this setting (except for X special case)', the stakes plummet through the floor.
It's like when I watched Dragonball Z (having not seen Dragonball), and they're like 'ok, wish everyone back'.
Also, I dunno what it is but Hugh Grant is giving me uncanny valley vibes?
It's like 'that's Hugh Grant... is it? Doesn't quite sound right, and he doesn't quite look right, but the guy he's playing is whinging about tea, so...'
On the 'very big plus' side, it's not Jeff Goldblum memeing his way through shit like that Thor movie, so...
