#Google is still trying to #kill the #OpenWeb.
I've collected the previous thread on the topic and added some updates, as I have become aware of them.
This includes an analysis of #Apple and their Private Access Token proposal, which has been compared to WEI (quick TL;DR: it's very different).

This may also be of interest to @EU_Commission @EDPS @ombudsman regarding legality of such an approach within the EU.
@edri may care how this is a vector for abusing PII.

The erstwhile "Don't be evil"-Company is joined by the #RottenApple to destroy the WWW as we know it.
If #Google has its way, people using older devices or special-needs browsers might not be able to access many websites anymore.
Also, the way the author and I see it, this way to use Personally Identifyable Information (#PII) might be in breach of data-privacy laws in some countries, in particular the #EU's #GDPDR.
The GOOD news,...

...however, is that we can ALL do something about it.
Stop using #Google's browser, #Chrome, and use the #FOSS browser of the #Mozilla Foundation, #Firefox, instead.
If many make this move, #Google will have to reverse the implementation in #Chrome, which I intend to uninstall on my PC shortly.
Time to also get a #DeGoogled #Fairphone, too, I guess.
