The campaign to stigmatize #Tesla is brilliant. That doughy Nazi is deeply leveraged and has a huge share of his wealth tied up in Tesla stock. There are many more good alternatives than there were a few years back. Non-Tesla charging infra is growing. And #MAGA chodes aren’t gonna make up the losses.
Even if you don’t hate #elonmusk, who wants to buy a car that’s painted with a huge target for mockery and abuse? Not worth it.
And even after its share price declined by 40% from its peak, the company’s P/E ratio is still 18x the industry average. That’s based almost entirely on brand reputation. There’s a long way to go down yet.
Now, let's do Trump. Again. Jeez.
@JoshuaHolland Europe didn’t allow none of that propriotary charger bullshit.
All telsa cars and chargers here run with the same connector as everything else.
Their chargers also have to sell power with credit card to anyone.
EU bureacracy 10 - Tesla 0
@gimulnautti @JoshuaHolland The Tesla NACS connector is the one the US is set to transition to. You can buy an adapter for it for most modern EVs. And honestly, if you're on the road, the Tesla Supercharger network has the most convenient and reliable chargers most of the time. A Better Route Planner will generally prefer them unless you tell it not to.
YMMV, of course.
@jheartney @gimulnautti The connector isn't the issue. So far only Ford and Rivian have struck deals to use Superchargers that don't have a Magic Dock, which is most of them. Others auto makers are reportedly in negotiation.
@JoshuaHolland @gimulnautti Our Chevy Bolt EV charges just fine on Superchargers through a third-party adapter. Made a big difference on our last two trips cross-state.
For American OEMs with EVs, the switch to NACS is just a matter of time. AFAICT all have announced they are switching.
BTW, I fully agree with stigmatizing Tesla. Mixed feelings about using Superchargers.
@jheartney @gimulnautti GM may have cut a deal since last I looked. They were close. I can’t charge my Kia.
@JoshuaHolland @gimulnautti Supposedly Kia will be supported by end of March. We'll see.
@JoshuaHolland there are much better cars out there, period. Also I would argue that money he got in rebates vs. what society got was not worth it. We got played.
@peteriskrisjanis @JoshuaHolland as someone who briefly worked at one of the gigafactories to put together those swastikars (before he made a play to become Führer), I can say wholeheartedly that there are indeed many other better choices over swastikars.
They were assembled with the least amount of parts that could hold everything together and even after they had fixed major issues with Q&A, I always personally felt that all models of swastikars were boring and basic.
@jimjam5 @peteriskrisjanis @JoshuaHolland I've been in a handful of Tesla taxis, and I've hated them since the first time. They are contrarian and not user friendly.
I read somewhere that he has been unloading his own shares of TSLA over the last few months. Is that true? I gather that several top company officials did just that...
It is a pity that SpaceX (and thus Starlink) are private companies. It would be VERY useful to know the actual state of their finances.
@JorgeStolfi He's always selling off chunks to service his debt but he still has most of his welth in Tesla.
@JoshuaHolland I will admit, the model 3 has a lot of appeal compared to cars in a similar price range.It is really worth stating that Teslas are the shoddiest made EVs you can buy (at least in the US) and with a history of pushing the responsibility for defects onto drivers.
.
@JoshuaHolland at a rally yesterday on a bridge, warched passing traffic for 1.5 hrs
No idea how many cars, but its 4 lanes, busy both ways. Saw 1 Tesla, 2 Rivians. People booed Tesla, cheered Rivians.
Tesla gonna go poof!
@JoshuaHolland
Also, you really should hate Musk.
@JoshuaHolland Brilliantly stupid. You do realize most Americans are poisoning us with fossil fuels and the majority of our EVs and chargers are from this brand?
@andrew773 I traded my inherited tesla for a Kia EV6. No new emissions.
@JoshuaHolland Musk is garbage but so is every other billionaire. We're supposed to scrap the majority of our EV fleet and charging network when the EV credit is going away and there won't be any new investments in public transportation? Have you not heard of climate change? Most of these cars are owned by environmentalist liberals. Look at my profile, I am not advertising cars here. You are spreading oil and gas propaganda.
@andrew773 @JoshuaHolland (*fart noise*)
@andrew773 That's a red herring. EV sales are increasing and Tesla's share is dropping as its sales decline and newer, high-quality competitors sell more and more EVs. I ditched my (inherited) Tesla for a Kia EV. Never considered going back to gas.
All billionaires are garbage, but most aren't destroying our government and supporting fascist movements around the world. Show me another one who put anywhere close to $270mil into getting Trump elected.
In addition to every else, just about every other kind of EV is better made than Teslas because they are made by car companies with experience in basic car constuction, unionized workforces etc.

i hope insurance companies do the math and begin charging a hefty premium on the brand because it’s become a target for vandalism.
@JoshuaHolland
Yes, the people who say it won't bankrupt him are missing the point. WE would still be happy as long as we had enough money to live on comfortably.
That is not how billionaires think *at all*. His net worth will never be enough to fill the void inside him, and any decrease in his net worth, combined with public disgust and rejection, will hit him far harder than we can easily imagine.
Musk and his ilk are not brave people.
...and it's not that long ago, during the election thing, when it became clear that the one thing that REALLY pushes the Trumpster's buttons is being laughed at. He does not deal with that well.
