@Koch_LL Exciting! Are civilian nuclear power programs necessary for nuclear weapons programs?
@Charlesberkow Thanks! A country could build nuclear facilities for the sole purpose of ultimately producing nuclear weapons, but along the way, they could use the same facilities to generate electricity. Or the facilities could be intended for civilian use but later be used to support a weapons effort. One interesting case: North Korea built 1-2 reactors in the early 1990s that they claimed were for civilian purposes - but that raised suspicions because they weren’t connected to the power grid.
