If you use #Wikipedia like I do pretty much everyday... Won't you consider donating?

@Tamami Be aware that there is currently a dispute between the #Wikipedia editor community and the #Wikimedia Foundation over the language used in their current fundraiser drive. The volunteer editors are not funded by and do not necessarily agree with how WMF are using the money. Many community members find the language misleading, you can read more about this on the RFC summary below. 1/

@Tamami I think we should all be asking though how we can support the infrastructure for a free and open internet. WMF is not necessarily a bad choice in the long run but I want to see WMF bring the community along with how they raise money. I'd endorse a donation to the @eff, the chronically underfunded @internetarchive, and don't forget to support your local instance admin and your favorite mastodon app! 2/
@Eliot_L could you tell the readers how they can support local instance admin ? As much as I like Mastodon so far, a lot is still a mystery to me.
@Tamami Great question! Not all instances take donations, but a common place to check for this is your instance's about page. If you're not sure you could ask your instance admin who should be listed on this page.
