Russia must continue paying a high price for its actions.
We welcome the Council's adoption of the 16th Russia sanctions package.
The new measures target key sectors of the Russian economy, including energy, trade, transport, infrastructure, and financial services.
We will continue taking decisive action to ramp up pressure and ensure full implementation of our sanctions.
Our support to Ukraine is unflinching.

@EUCommission
We - the #EU - should give Ukraine _everything_ they need to crush #russia out of #Ukraine. What ever the cost.
#Finland, #Baltics and #Denmark already giving 1% of our GDB. 4 times more than rest of EU.
You are hiding behind our and Ukrainian backs! Yes Ukrainians fights for #europe . Finland also secures 1340 km ruzzian borded.
Could rest of #Europe do your part also?
#ArmUkraineNow so it can #defend us and #defendDemocracy
@Tapioseta @EUCommission Every time a European from a frugal country that fought tooth and nail to keep the EU underfinanced and vulnerble to both Russia and the US grandstands about their oooooh 1 percent spent on the biggest threat to their own security, we're going to have to act uinmpressed and check their voting record in the EU. Like the UK only paying back a TINY fraction of the billions London has laundered for Putin over the years, frugals still have a lot more to pay to breakeven.
Well. Yeah. Finland could have supported stronger EU more all along.
But - it was partially 'cause us that there ever was west-Germany. We destroyed those some 3000 madeinUSA USSR tanks and killed 1M USSR soldiers. That could have taken whole Berlin. And Paris too..?
Nato without US has reserve of 1.9M soldiers. Finland has reserve of 0.9M soldiers...
Helsinki was never invaded. Berlin was. Paris too. And every European capitol part of the ww2.
So - money or..?
@Tapioseta @EUCommission Yes, yes, the US Army and the Resistance could have never liberated Paris without you.
Never invaded capital totally makes up for helping Germany gut the EU budget for defence during the Finnish presidency of the Council and generally voting in lockstep w/Germany to block the EU for a quarter of a centruy. Respect to Denmark for getting off the frugal kool-aid. It's actually doing its part to repay a TINY part of the Putin billions it laundered with Estonia via Danske.
Well.
Main theather was always in the east front.
Normandy in 1944 was side kick when the war was already ending and nazies falling...
But - question now is do we like democracy? And rule based world order?
If we do. Europe should unite. Stop fighting among ourselves. And rearm. With european stuff.
ps. I think everyone still buys russian fossiles. Or other dictatorship.
pps. Also US can soon be really fasicst - and really agressive.
@Tapioseta @EUCommission I'm not going to continue to YouTube, sorry (I don't help it sell me ads). You don't have to convince me of any of that. (Well, except maybe about History According to My Navel... I say this with love, I've lived and worked and traveled extensively in countries that adopt the Navel view of WWII, from the only one half-justified, Poland, to Bulgaria, Lithuania and everything in between. I can nod politely, I don't mind, but national egos are hilarious to me...)
Yeah YT is that oligarc stuff.
Sarah Paine's lectures on geopolitics are nice and informative. Not perfect orcourse.
She has also written books.
That YT short was about European main theater in ww2 and US massive lend-lease to USSR.
