@andresdiaz Omelettes are a pretty good place to start, you can do a lot with an omelette! Google around, you'll find all sorts of recipes. Even just a plain one is nice. Butter, eggs, a bit of milk, and you're away.
@monsterlander Thanks!, yeees, omelette is one of my favorite plates, although I have to be honest by saying I don't usually make those. I'm a little bit lazy and I tend to do a whole mess when I cook.
@andresdiaz Hah yes - I guess we all find the right intersection between tasty and lazy!
@andresdiaz I've been a fan of chopping up onion, cabbage and potatoes, tossing them in some olive oil, and roasting - then serving with a fried egg on top. That's tasty and requires very little intervention.
That looks easy and tasty to make!, What spices do you use?
Potatoes are one of my favorite food, I'm a big fan of what here in Spain is called "Patatas Bravas", which literaly translates to "Spicy Potatoes"
@andresdiaz Another thing I often make that's quite easy is this - it doesn't look like much but it's really nice.
Onions & garlic in olive oil and some spices - I tend to use coriander, cumin and paprika - fried until soft then add the spices for a couple of minutes. Then dump in tinned tomatoes and drained chick peas and simmer until thick. Top with some chopped up halloumi.
That halloumi looks yummy.
I'm actually a big fan of just using one frying pan or bowl, It makes cleaning easier, and this is just perfect for that.
@andresdiaz Yep! Me too. I'm a big fan of spanish omelettes too (I guess just omelettes or tortillas to you?) for the same reason. I sometimes do those by roasting everything and then dumping some Feta on there for the last 10 minutes or so
Maybe stick some asparagus in too, all one pan - yay!
@monsterlander yes to us is tortillas, wao, there are so many things that one could do with just one pan
@andresdiaz yeah - chilli is another great one. I sometimes just use those little packs of microwave rice to go with it rather than making another pan dirty :)
Also with chilli and all these baked omelettes, you can make too much and they are great for the next few days.
I tend to avoid chilli, I don't handle very good spicy food
@andresdiaz We're the same! I like it to some extent, but my wife and son aren't keen - so I just make it with plenty of Cumin instead. Still lovely / no burn!
