Ah, a reminder from Facebook that it's my dead friend’s birthday and I should let them know that I'm thinking of them.
(I know this isn't a new or unique complaint. Which makes it all the worse: despite years of people pointing out how bad this is, companies like Facebook just don't effing care. Anything to try to juice engagement. 1) let us opt out of things like birthday notification, and 2) just say that it's their birthday; we are capable of deciding if we want to do anything in response.)
@andrewabernathy people still use facebook?
@iainabernathy Not everyone forgot their password.
@andrewabernathy I think you can opt out of that, by deleting your account? Not sure if there are other methods.
