People I trust on here are speaking out on the importance of owning your content.

Most say start building content on a platform you control (a personal blog). Then disperse the content from there to other platforms (Mastodon, etc.)

Anyone work at it from the OPPOSITE way? Have a worker process pulls in all social media posts into your own backup system?

Either way, the concept interests me! Share if you have a process that works well for you.

@box464 I started blogging seriously in mid-2019 and I started with Medium, got zero readership, moved over to dev.to, got a decent readership there, and then migrated to a formal blog. I now have a number of blogs and cross-post to Medium and Dev.to still.

Medium's authorship tools made it easy to start there and dev.to's community made it easy to continue.
