Gun laws in Georgia:
No state permit required to purchase.
No firearm registration.
No assault weapon law.
No magazine capacity restriction.
No owner license required.
No permit required for concealed carry.
No permit required for open carry.
No background check required for private sales.
The parents and children of Georgia deserve better from their political leaders.
@charlotteclymer They deserve exactly what they have voted for.
These lax laws didn't all get passed during this past year.
@Jestbill @charlotteclymer have you SEEN Georgia voter suppression? it's insane.
@darwinwoodka @charlotteclymer Just give the Republicans a technical win? Those people have been voting for God and against their families for 100 years.
@Jestbill @charlotteclymer The kids that died neither voted nor deserved to die.
@charlotteclymer
Statement from Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp:
“I have directed all available state resources* to respond to the incident at Apalachee High School and urge all Georgians to join my family in praying for the safety of those in our classrooms, both in Barrow County and across the state.”
*Except resources that would enable gun permits, gun registrations, concealed carry permits, background checks, bans on assault weapons, and bans on high capacity magazines.
@shansterable @charlotteclymer
School Shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia
News:
4 killed, 9 hospitalized,
suspect in custody
@shansterable literally “thoughts and prayers” @charlotteclymer
WOW
So it looks like I could stop at the gun store and pick up an AR15 or a handgun on the way to get groceries.
No wonder our country is in such chaos..
@charlotteclymer then they need to stop electing the GOP just like everyone else in this country needs to stop doing. The GOP are killers and do not care.
@charlotteclymer here in this west-EU country, just going outside for a small walk, with a weapon in hand : 5 mins max before police comes and you're get fked up..
@tkr @charlotteclymer Actually the same thing would happen here. That's known as brandishing, and will result in you having an officer of the law pointing his weapon at you and ordering you to drop yours.
@charlotteclymer
Very good response. No smart assery and nicely articulated logic.
@charlotteclymer It's horrible.
"The parents and children deserve better"?
Then start voting accordingly and get rid of tis nonsense.
@charlotteclymer @ItsaMeWario So basically buying a gun is similar to buying a loaf of bread, a container of milk and a stick of butter. And lots and lots of peoplel see nothing wrong with that.
@charlotteclymer So ?
No License required in Georgia to buy a weapon ?
So maybe the 14 fold kid just said he was the legal age, gave money, gatta gun & bullets, concealed carry is legal too, open carry is legal.....Then he went to school
@Arqtec @charlotteclymer I’ll bet it was in the home amd he took it.
@CatDragon
That is the most likely
Georgia does NOT have a law that says you must secure a loaded firearm
You can have one in your car, business ,in your home, on your person concealed or open carry
This kid could have possibly purchased it in a private deal by second hand purchase ?
No record taking is required for you to sell a weapon you own
SO ?
Kid walks in with money, you have a gun to sell, you take the money, kid now has a gun (Maybe illegally if he is underage)
Wala, a Killer is born
@charlotteclymer They've more concerned with making sure everyone has triple-stamped long form American citizen documents. God forbid someone were to pick up a pen and help choose a leader of the country without an ID. That's the real danger!
Guns though? Nah. Whoever heard of a gun causing damage.
@charlotteclymer So, basically, NO gun laws in Georgia.
@charlotteclymer are you kidding that is what is great about Georgia!
@charlotteclymer we have fun detailed parts too. You can actually conceal carry into college classes. You aren't allowed to carry if there are either high schoolers dual enrolled or kids under 18 in the class, BUT no one is allowed to ask about either status.
@charlotteclymer no red flag law.
Presumably, no age restriction either.
