Sad to see that #Pebble has finally faded away (as a Mastodon instance). #Pebble (Initially known as #T2) was one of a number of ‘Twitter clones’ that stepped up as Twitter seemingly imploded (regrettably, as #X, it seems to have somewhat survived). T2/Pebble was, in my experience, at least, one of those magical little places where the right people gathered, at the right time, and wrangled a tool into a place to have fun and to share Wonderful Things with each other. Farewell #T2.
@cloudhopper I second that. T2/Pebble was magical, and there is nothing quite the same to take its place.
@gladsdotter Yup. But not magical enough for the millions. Which made it more magical to me <g>
@cloudhopper Fare thee well #Pebble - t'was a grand experiment from whence I stumbled upon your good self making it worthwhile in itself. There are an additional handful (inc. @gladsdotter) with whom I remain in touch, but, as you said “not magical enough for the millions” which likewise sold it to me as something truly special.
@barrd @cloudhopper @gladsdotter In case you've missed it, a #pebble like device is coming back (from the founder of pebble!). Check out my toot: https://chaos.social/@M4x/114172368883869981
@M4x @barrd @gladsdotter Yeah, no but thank you. You’re talking about a device. We’re talking about a microblogging social platform.
@cloudhopper Wow, so #Pebble truly is gone for good, huh? It was nice while it lasted and glad I got to make lasting connections with some of you on here and on BlueSky #T2pub
