@gamingonlinux They are collaborating on my pc for the last 5 years, btw!

@gamingonlinux this headline probably made certain nerds instantle cum in theit pants

@gamingonlinux@mastodon.social secure signing enclave is scary. Sounds like something to “fix” anti cheats

@skymtf @gamingonlinux I’ll take a transparent open source anti cheat implementation over some proprietary ring -1 black box cooked up by Riot’s developers any day of the week.

@notthebee@tilde.zone @gamingonlinux@mastodon.social my issue is this limits user freedom which is in direct conflict to Linux philosophy.

Does this herald a future edition of SteamOS that is officially targetted for and supported on desktop, in general, @gamingonlinux ?

That would presumably be a hedge against a certain end-of-life that's looming next year. Valve are preparing a feel-good, shrink-wrapped, fully supported desktop OS to offer to users who don't opt for a spurious hardware refresh for which they never asked.

Valve do care about the health of "the desktop" as a concept. Without TPM or AI.

@charlie i wouldn’t say so no, Valve already use Arch for SteamOS so it’s just work they want to see

I actually doubt we will see a true desktop SteamOS release, it’s a *lot* of work for Valve

@gamingonlinux @charlie Isn't Valve already working on creating an official release of SteamOS that could be installed on anything? I thought I heard about them planning on it at least.

@danddv77 sure would be nice if Gamescope had more yes
