The upcoming v1.1 update of has a ton of great stuff but it also deals with the vexing problem of duplicate cross posts over multiple feeds.

To say I’m proud of @bigzaphod for designing and implementing this amazing feature is a vast understatement. As far as I’m concerned it’s engineering voodoo.

From the beginning we knew cross posts would be a major problem for Tapestry and while not perfect, the new Crosstalk feature is just amazing. Stay tuned!

@gedeonm This is an awesome feature. It reminds me of the early Twitterrific days with indispensable features added on top of feed.

@gedeonm @bigzaphod It’s so incredibly awesome! This app gets better every day! 😁

@gedeonm @bigzaphod My assumption is the manner in which I've configured my Tapestry feeds means Crosstalk won’t really do anything for me. Right now there are only three feeds that I get both their RSS and Bluesky posts. I have those three RSS feeds in a different timeline that I usually just quickly skim. All my Bluesky follows are in a different timeline. Crosstalk is just meant to work for different feeds that are assigned to the same timeline, correct?

@leebennett @bigzaphod Yes. There’s nothing for Crosstalk to do in a timeline that has no cross posting.

@gedeonm @bigzaphod Thanks. I'll experiment moving those three back into my main feed.

@gedeonm @bigzaphod This is a very welcome addition, but I noticed an issue with it. All of the Doonesbury comics are accidentally marked by this feature.

@gracjan @bigzaphod Yep, we’re working on it, thanks.

@gedeonm @gracjan I assume you have more than one comic feed configured - not just Doonesbury?

@bigzaphod @gedeonm Yes, I also have the Calvin and Hobbes feed.

@bigzaphod
The last update fixed the issue for me. Thanks!

@gedeonm @bigzaphod Crosstalk detection is gonna be a game changer.

Is there an "official way" to submit any feature request or wishes (I have 0 expectations but sometimes I have non-terrible ideas)?

For example right now I think my most wanted features would be: Mastodon for my feed but ONLY posts with (media and or links), and a way to see volume per feed in the feed list (sort by most noisy) which could also include "Sort by most crosstalk”

@g @bigzaphod You can open a ticket here with feature requests.

Thanks.

@gedeonm @bigzaphod OK, I was afraid of doing that and passing them off as bugs :) Will do!
