@jk you forgot to start with “ZAP! Bleep! Bloop!”
@jk I would totes read this.
@jk "videogames have come a long way since ____"
@jk Awesome! I've been a gamer for over 35 years. There is no other medium as immersive as a good game. Navigating the game world and making choices that impact said world and characters deliver an experience like no other. Give me a Souls-like, and I'm happy. As I've gotten older, I've been drawn to smaller, independent developers instead of large companies. Unfortunately, greed has infiltrated gaming, too, and many (not all) large publishers rush out unfished products to maximize profits.
@jk Where can I find this? Is it an article or podcast?
@jk Also: every major advancement in computer technology since the first PCs has been driven by the gaming industry. Better graphics, better sound, faster processors, more memory, ray tracing, multiple-button mice, high-res displays... all thanks to people trying to make gaming better. If not for gaming, we'd still be using Commodore PETs and TRS-80s.
@jk "Look, a very good writer did this lead in 1978 and it's done us well!"
