Cool things you can do in Mastodon and perhaps you weren't aware of:
* Create an RSS link from any Mastodon profile
* Validate your profile easily using your personal domain
* Use a column interface à là Tweetdeck (RIP)
Share your favorite use cases!

@john_fisherman Forgive me if it's just me being tired, but am I supposed to meet a json file when following the link?
Nice topic though.
Here are my, somewhat WordPress centric, somewhat unknown use cases:
- As most ActivityPub, including Mastodon, features RSS/ATOM, it's dead easy to integrate on a website.
- There is a WordPress plugin that ActivityPub's your blog. Follow blogs via Mastodon.
- Zooming on desktop? Adblock the "about section" for a taller text edit area.
@oldrup no need to apologize, Bjarne! Hmm, I shared the link to the post, good ol' HTTP. Where did you see the link, and what JSON is that?
@john_fisherman Hm. I just clicked the link
https://fredrocha.net/2025/03/18/how-i-use-mastodon-in-2025/
and this is what I got (screenshot)
But, I did some more testing, and it appears that I get a JSON file in my firefox based browsers (firefox, librewolf), and the correct rendered blog post in chromium based browsers (chrome, brave, edge).
Not testet in safari — ain't got no Apple devices
I'm running Windows 11.
@oldrup funny, all I use is Firefox and I can't seem to reproduce that issue. Although I had a similar one in the past, but because the permalink for the post started with the word RSS.
Cleared the cache anyway, because why wouldn't you?
Thanks for reporting, and for reading!
