There was a discussion about how google is rewriting Title in @linkedin
of how common is the rewriting of Title META by @searchliaison these days as they were back in 2022... by an article both in @searchenginejournal and also @seroundtable it was pretty common again...
https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-changes-more-than-61-percent-of-title-tags/435618/
https://www.seroundtable.com/google-search-rewriting-more-titles-35286.html
So dear John, Can you enlighten us on this matter...
@SEOfarfar @linkedin @searchliaison @searchenginejournal @seroundtable @LilyRay Woah, so many people cc'ed. I don't know about numbers, but given the variety of devices (length restrictions), and the different purposes of title elements (tabs, bookmarks, SEO, link anchor, search results, etc), I think some amount, probably even a lot, of rewriting for search results is inevitible. Especially now with site-names being shown, I'd expect title links to focus more on the page, rather than the site.
@johnmu so, is Google still replace titles like some time ago, some 60% i hears about ans in the link of previoua post…
@SEOfarfar I have no idea what the number is, I would expect it to be somewhat high, mostly because of the variety of purposes that titles on pages now have to deal with. (Also, how do you even count the percentage?)
@johnmu thank you John, for spening time on the matter…
