Real talk: I think a lot of "return to office" executives are just people who never learned to type quickly enough to use Slack comfortably.

@seldo Used to, executives weren't expected to type fast cuz they would hire a person to type for them. Maybe it would cost less to hire dedicated typers for executives than it would to pay for like a building

I always appreciate my mom (who moved up from secretary to head of Personnel back in the 1960s) seeing my first TRS80 and badgering the school to let me in to a typing class, so I'd learn *proper* typing if I was going to do it at all. Definitely paid off :)

@eichin @mcc I didn't learn proper typing until my early 20s and it had a huge payoff.

@seldo @eichin @mcc Likewise. Learning to touch type in my early 20s set me up in the late 1980s for what was about to come. At school only girls were allowed to learn type… imagine the school’s reasoning back then.
