while working on some work time tracking stuff today i noticed that exactly 5 years ago, in june/july 2019, i was routing the MNT Reform 2.0 motherboard (the one for the classic MNT Reform laptop most of you know).
Reform 1.0 started in 2017 and was released in 2018 (only 13 units exist) https://mntre.com/media/reform_md/2019-01-14-status_update_on_reform.html
this page had a dead link to a video showing how we basically hand-made the whole laptop back then, now restored https://mntmn.com/media/videos/reform-beta-hand-assembly.mp4
@mntmn I expect in 10 years these 13 laptops will go for 2000/pieceat least. even higher later
@mntmn Sooo cool
Idk it feels like the older version was much more complicated/ newer models are simpler, am I just fooled with all of those little things going in it(which are in current models more integrated?)
@mntmn That is such a phenomenally cool / fascinating video
@mntmn
Impressive !
@mntmn That's so cool! Was the bottom-plate 3d printed back then? And the fan was replaced by a bigger heatsink?
@gustav the acrylic plates were lasercut. and yes, exactly @ heatsink. fan was annoying
@mntmn The video is awesome, shows the complex of the work done.
@mntmn the rubber band for closing really give it a lot of personnality :D
