The #activitypub plugin for Wordpress is still not ready for primetime, IMO. When you add an image to your Wordpress Media Library, internally that's an attachment post, and the plugin appears to be ignoring that, and making a post out of it anyway. I just added a few dozen images to my library and they all showed up in my Mastodon feed as separate postings! Sorry, but that's crap.

@japipes then you might have to check your settings! There is a section where you can decide what post types you want to federate. If you deactivate attachments, it will no longer publish media uploads!
@japipes and I would not call it „crap“, because it is a requested feature and (as already mentioned) you can deactivate it!
@pfefferle
Appreciate the response. I would humbly suggest that this option should default to off. Also, I had a look at the configuration page, and it's not super obvious to a novice like me which boxes I should check and which I should leave alone.
@japipes it is off by default since some versions. Maybe you installed it before we changed it?!? What information might help you to decide what to enable and what not? We are always happy to improve things!
@pfefferle
Thanks for asking. If they had tooltips when you hover over them with a short explanation of what they do, that might be good enough.
@japipes but isn't there a description behind "Media" in your settings?
Isn't that enough or can it be misunderstood?
@pfefferle
I'm going to try reinstalling the plugin, because I think you're right, I have an older version of it.
@japipes always use the version from the WordPress.org repo, so that it will be updated with every new version. If you are using ClassicPress or any other special fork, you could also install it through composer.
@pfefferle
Would you happen to know how I go about deleting the erroneous posts from my feed?
@japipes the images?
@pfefferle
I'm not sure if you saw my response. Yes, I am looking for a way to remove the images from my feed
