As a junior engineer, I BELIEVED job titles were super important. I even "collected" them for a while...
Now I BELIEVE they mean very little.
When I first worked with software contractors, I BELIEVED they were the best of the best (Because of their pay)
After working with many contractors over many years, I realised that most are normal software enginneers, and some are actually quite poor. (I'm not knocking contractors, I used to be one...)
At one stage, I BELIEVED contracting was so elite that I didn't even consider it an option for me.
Now I see contracting as just another job.
What you believe will shape your reality; it can keep you rooted to the floor or send you reaching toward great heights.
CHOOSE what you believe carefully.
