[P] I have mixed feelings about the ending of the dragon part of Split Fiction. I wish the corruption hadn't taken the form of a dragon as I'm super-iffy about dragonslaying symbolically. It's a message of "Make the other suffer! Yes, we know you thirst for it!" So that's a big, black mark. However! It is redeemed somewhat by working with two dragons to take down the corruption. I just wish they hadn't made the corruption dragon-shaped.

[P] It just puts such a sour note on it, for me. Thorn was right, the puppy got kicked, I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. Yes, the real dragons helped. Yes, it did just seem to be a construct. But it was still symbolically dragon-slaying and it looked painful. So the Very Human thirst for hurting otherness is present and that takes it off my list of games I can play. It upsets me, but... Split-Fiction isn't for me. C'est la vie.

-2

[P] If only it'd been a non-combat game about puzzles, parkour, and flying... I really love the regular dragons. The blue one has my heart as he's able to roll around like a certain hedgehog! Whuuf. If only... But humans need to hurt the very alien, humans Do Not Like the very alien. So plunging a sword into the skull of a very alien creature makes humans horny, but it just makes very alien me feel sick. It makes me really sad.

-3

[P] I feel like those swords could easily be driven into my very alien head, or worse, the very alien heads of my beautiful headmates. And I just... Split-Fiction isn't for me. I now understand why it's selling so well. It makes perfect sense. It has the abuse of the very alien that humans are so horny for. You were right, Thorn. Thorn pointed out to me how dangerously AAA Split-Fiction is. I didn't listen. I wanted to hope.

-4

[P] Well, more fool me! As usual. I'm an idiot. I find that hope often makes me stupid. Cavern of Dreams was "average" at best to humans because it wasn't about harming the very alien (as I've said, butchering and abusing the very alien seems to get humans off). To my very alien brain, Cavern of Dreams is a work of art that made me hqppy-cry and smile like a loon. It made me feel young and alive like very few things have.

[P] I need to be careful about slophouse AAA stuff. It's all the same. Thorn tried to warn me. If Split-Fiction had been indie or AA? If it'd been a passion-project? It could've been a non-combat, non-violent game about dragons, puzzles, parkour, and flying. But the thing about slophouse content? It has big marketing money behind it, so it has to make bugger money by casting a wide net. It can't be a passion project. AAA is Profit > All.

-6

[P] And how do you cast the widest, most soulless net? Slophouse games know how. You have to have game mechanics focused around abusing and butchering the very alien, because all humans like that. It's only very alien not-so-human persons like myself who aren't into that. Pacifistic games and games with pacifist runs don't make slophouse money. Indies and AAs don't seem as profit-focused, though, so they have my attention.

-7

[P] I just need to be even more leery and wary of anything that looks a bit too slophouse, a bit too AAA. I just wish Thorn had been wrong about Split-Fiction, but... there are no exceptions to the slophouse rule. You have to make that money back somehow. So there has to be some otherness factor somewhere, some Not-Us to bring to the pain. It's just the way of it and I've yet to see an exception. So, the model we have for humans stands.

-8

[P] I'd like for us to be wrong one of these days, but... that's just inviting delusion. Human nature is human nature, humans Do Not Like the very alien, humans get horny abusing and butchering the very alien—it does a lot for them. The model stands. The only games for me will be those by fellow neurodivergent aliens in the indie/AA space. I just hope Subnautica 2 doesn't go AAA. Please, please, please don't go slophouse, Unknown Worlds.
