Frame by Frame 13: Legacy
Frame by Frame is a four-panel comic series by Marc Weidenbaum and me. We generally post a new comic every first and third Monday of the month.
On related news, fellow lines user and musician ioflow posted a wonderful review of our series on his blog wavelight, I’m absolutely amazed by how many of the hidden connections in these comics he was able to notice!
on a conceptual level, so much thoughtfulness goes into each comic: the framing of questions, observations, and contemplations for the reader; the interconnectedness of comics and panels; the relationships between characters, objects, settings, and activities; reflections on the role and effects of sound and recordings in daily life, and special occasions.
I’m especially honored by the kind words on my drawings:
on a visual level, the art is refreshingly vintage–the linework is reminiscent of woodblock print and pamphlet illustration, with abundant details.
Indeed illustrations created through woodblock print (and other vintage printing techniques) have always been a huge inspiration and influence on my style.
