I don’t want to over-romanticize the CD era: you had to buy a whole CD just to get one song, and each CD was roughly 3 hours’ wages.
But there were some fortuitous finds. I purchased Goodbye Country, Hello Nightclub for the song Edge Hill, yet I ended up really liking all the other songs too.
