This has inspired me to change direction slightly on #socii…what if there were no (or minimal) images by default and the UI was mostly text? I’m excited at the idea of more information density but making it feel good.
Yeah, I think imma do it.

Been slowly building out #socii now that last week's distraction is in the rearview.
First column is a live feed, second column is a random profile, third column is kind of like an editor’s note. Maybe I could update this on a regular basis with what's happening on the site? That'd be neat!
Anyhoo, this is what you'd see if you stumbled upon the site. I don't like the idea of not allowing lurking...how else would you know if you'd want to subscribe?!
@christina …right after I launch #socii
Not having texture on the media controls was bothering me so I added that. Also added track progress in the background of the active song. Clicking the volume icon toggles mute as well.
Think this is done for now, probably gonna create dummy customers next to test blocked/muted people and posts.
Spent the past few days building the music player for profile playlists. Really proud of the visualizer (thanks Claude AI!) and getting the next song in the playlist to play automatically. Apple Music gives you 30 seconds of a song when not logged in so this is like HitClips for your profile!
The playlist does autoplay but there will be a site wide toggle to disable that.
Figured out how to use the Apple Music API and how to extract the ID from music links. Looking forward to making a modern version of MySpace’s music player. #socii
Profile pages on #socii are designed after my homepage, but better! Pictured is your top 8, posts (no likes), favorite topics, and dunbars (small groups) you’re a member of.
Next up is the music player. I'm probably going to use Apple Music's API.
hey…I am really proud today.
I want to scream from the rooftops. I want to tell all the people the good news!
The team I am working with just received their final version of their SOC 2 Type I report.
I am proud of the work they did to get here, it was not easy for them. I am proud of the work I have put in so far to keep them moving forward.
I am proud of the work we are doing today to build a model program in the messy world of Managed Service Providers. If you are in the MSP space, you don't need to become an MSSP or change your model, you just need to get back to basics and do what you say you do.
On the personal side, I love these moments because it reminds me of the work I do and the pride I put into my work.
Maybe to some of you #infosec folks #SOCII seems routine or expected but for a lot of us, it is a bonus, a promotion, a week of PTO, or some big part of our careers. To me as the only career InfoSec person on the team, it is the only professional validation of my work and the only way my peers have to judge the value of the work I do and represent for the team.
Sure its just a report, but damn it feels good.
