Corcoran was biking near the Boston University Boathouse, at a part of Memorial Drive where the on-street bike lane merges onto the sidewalk. The initial investigation indicated that the driver lost control of his vehicle, police said in September. Massachusetts State Police said their Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section completed its investigation on March 4.

Google DocsPETITION: Paul Toner Must Resign from the Cambridge City CouncilWe, the Title IX Aurelia Advocates (TIAA), invites community members and organizations to sign this petition. TIAA is a sexual violence advocacy organization at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS). We are calling for the immediate resignation of Councilor Paul Toner from the City Council in light of his connection to a federal investigation into a brothel ring. On March 21, 2025, Councilor Toner was charged after being identified as a frequent client of a brothel network operating in Cambridge and surrounding communities. One of the operation’s leaders has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges of money laundering and coercing individuals to engage in prostitution. These charges involve coercion, manipulation, and exploitation, distinguishing them from consensual sex work.​ WBUR Councilor Toner has publicly admitted to purchasing sex through this operation. Regardless of one's views on consensual sex work, involvement in a system built on coercion and exploitation is indefensible for an elected official.​ What message are we sending young people if Toner is permitted to stay in office? Toner’s connection to this case signals that those involved with sexual violence are rewarded with positions of power. Rewarding this behavior is a slap in the face for survivors. These women will never be in a position to defend themselves to the degree that Toner will. Survivors of sexual crimes are often shamed or discredited. This is true for women across the country, and even at CRLS. TIAA has worked to support survivors and witnessed the lack of empathy our society can have toward their experiences. Public officials must uphold the highest ethical standards. Councilor Toner’s actions undermine public trust and compromise our city's commitment to justice and human rights.​ We also urge Mayor Denise Simmons to exercise her authority to remove Councilor Toner from all committee assignments, reflecting the severity of these charges.​ NBC Boston Furthermore, we call on the City Council to pass a resolution formally requesting Councilor Toner's resignation, reinforcing our collective stance against any form of sexual exploitation.​ Cambridge must demonstrate that involvement in systems of coercion has serious consequences.​ We therefore demand Paul Toner’s immediate resignation from the Cambridge City Council.

The whole meeting is appalling. The truly, truly shocking part starts at about 47:55, though.

The Somerville ADA coordinator announces that she gets to change the agenda and can halt the meeting over the chair's objections because she owns the zoom account. That staffer shouted at them, ended the meeting, and kicked commissioners out of the building.
